We are planning to have an event entitled "Agricultural Technologies and Cross-Cultural Exchange" as below in the CIGR International Symposium, which will be held on September 19 to 23, 2011. Objective:
Exchanges of comprehensive information, which we cannot discuss on at general sessions, are expected based on discussions about farm works and mechanization situation in different cultural base countries through comparison of them among the countries.
Discussion Contents:
- Geographical and historical background of agriculture and special local crops
- Farming system, situation of domestic machines and mechanization, labor productivity, labor population in farm, labor hours, and land productivity
- Capability of special local crops, future prospect such as prediction in 30 years later, and other specific advantages or problems.
How to present:
Each group presents above contents with a 1m X 2m size poster for five minutes between 14:00 and 15:00 (Core time) as below schedule. It is encouraged for all presenters and participants to discuss one another anytime. It is required to prepare poster by 13:00, September 21, 2011.
- 12:00--13:00: Preparation
- 13:00--14:00: Individual Discussion
- 14:00--15:00: Presentation with Poster (5 minutes each)
- 15:00--15:30: Break
- 15:30--17:00: Free Discussion
How to apply:
E-mail to Mr. Diding Suhandy (Kyoto University) and submit presentation title and group member list in English. We may suggest applicants about grouping if plural applicants are from same country. Contact to Prof. Kondo (Kyoto University), if there is any question about this event.
